Tabitha + Steve's Engagement Sesssion

Tabitha & Steve are getting married in September in the Crossroads so we met there for the start of their engagement session then headed downtown for a lot of fun shots in lobbies and around all the city buildings.

They met at work where she resisted him for quite some time not wanting to get involved with a co-worker. But as fate would have it they were meant to be together after all! Aren't they so cute together?! :o)

These 1st 2 shots are in the Crossroads Arts District. I just love the old buildings down there so I can't wait til their wedding

Next we headed downtown where we 1st stopped in the lobby of the Hilton President hotel. I had seen these banners up all around Downtown at the Power & Light construction sites and just couldn't resist getting them in front of this one! A couple other fun stops in the P&L district Another couple shots in a lobby at 1201 Walnut. I love the buildings in the background in this top shot. We just kept walkingaround Downtown and found a few other fun places to stop & shoot, going for the spontaneous. These next 2 are my favorites! This was a really sweet moment...

Jamie's Senior Session

Yesterday I had a great time venturing out to Tonganoxie High School to meet up with Jamie and his mom Regina for Jamie's senior portrait session. Jamie is in both basketball and football so the school was a great location and even better, we had the place to ourselves. I had fun getting shots of him in the empty hallways and on the bleachers out by the field.

After graduation next spring Jamie is going to college to become a chef and with my husband being a chef we had a great topic to talk about & Jamie loosened up in front of the camera after no time at all. So, despite Jamie's first words to me of "I hate having my picture taken" I think we got some great shots of him! :o)

I think this shot is my personal fave. We found a much needed shady spot for this one. At 9am it was already really hot outside!

KC Bridal Fair

I just wanted to do a quick post about the KC Bridal Fair coming up August 23, 2008 at the Town Pavilion in Downtown KC where I will have a booth. They've got space for a lot of vendors so there will be a lot to see under one roof so come check it out and stop by to say Hi!

You can also pre-register on their website and get $2 off admission ($5 at the door) here: KC Bridal Fair. You can only enter the big wedding give-away by pre-registering so make sure you do that before the fair! The fair will be taking place from 10-5.

What's also really great about this fair is that they are limiting the number of vendors per category so it's not overwhelming for brides. And even better for you is that they are limiting photographers to only 4 or 5, so by the end of the day you won't have a zillion pictures mushing all around in your head (like some fairs where there are 25+ photographers), but it's still enough that it'll be a good selection to see.

I am still in the planning stages of my booth design but things are already coming together nicely. As the day gets closer I'll post more about what you can expect to find at my booth. I am already very excited to say that I'll have one of my lovely past brides who will be on-hand to help answer questions and talk to you more about her experience.

It's going to be a lot of fun so mark your calendar!

Flowers at the Zoo

Just a fun shot I loved & thought worth posting. We had a family day and took our son to the zoo a couple weeks ago. While my hubby took him through an aviary I stayed outside to shoot these gorgeous blossoms dangling from the trees. I took plenty of animal pictures too of course but this is the one that really jumped out at me!

Amy + Mike's Wedding

Several weeks ago I had the joy of going down to Florida to second shoot for a photographer down there, Ortiz-Sellers Photography. They had 3 weddings booked that weekend so they were in need of extra help in a big way, and I will take any chance I get to come back down to Florida for a visit. ;o) Tina Ortiz and her husband Bob Sellers were so great to have me come down & were so hospitable, letting me share their home, meet their 2 kids & 2 kitties and have some fun during my trip. I can't wait to go back to shoot again for them!

I also had a great time shooting the wedding alongside another of their associate photographers, Jeff, who does great work!

Here's a sampling of some of what I captured during Amy & Mike's gorgeous day at the Sand Pearl on Clearwater Beach.

Enjoy!

The hair & makeup...

I love the powder swirling in the air here, Amy sticking her tongue out at me and her pretty shoes in the window with the pool below.

This shot is probably my favorite from the entire day. I just love the turqouise blue water, the gauzy curtains and the gorgeous bride to make this shot great!

It could have been easy for Mike to pass off his tears as the sun being in his eyes but his smile and anticipation on seeing his bride for the 1st time is clear.
This shot of Amy and her dad says it all. Amy's tears of joy and you can see how proud her dad is to be walking her down the aisle. I just love the light in this image. Such a pretty day!

We had a great time down on the beach getting some fun and romantic shots of the happy couple and their wedding party at sunset. Perfect!

Amy was one happy bride! And so sweet to be around. She just glowed all day long.
