The Pyle Family

Here we are at the Kauffman Legacy Park with the Pyle family in mid-November. I'm overdue getting this on my blog! This was such a fun family to photograph. They loved making each other laugh & tried their best to crack each other up during their pictures. Hey, I'm glad we got some natural smiles! ;o) Thanks guys for giving me a laugh too!!
The silliness:
And the seriousness:

Okay, who's trying to make these girls laugh?! ;o)

The Smith Family

We headed to Loose Park on this gorgeous fall day to meet up with the Smith family. Dawn's sister & her kids stopped by briefly for the big family photos on the bridge. I love the bridges at Loose Park and Dawn had to have water so we decided this would be the perfect place. And thankfully, the leaves hung on just long enough for this weekend of pictures! The next week all the leaves were totally gone!

I picked out some of my favorites to share. They are such a strong, close-knit family. The love shines through! :o)

Here is the whole group. I love how this shot turned out with them all stair-stepped. We didn't even plan it that way.
The love birds. ;o)

Megan's Senior Shoot

This is Megan, and as the heading suggests... you guessed it... she's a senior this year. ;o) I love the senior attitude and I got plenty of it last weekend on this shoot. Megan is so full of life, personality (you can see the many sides to her in the images below) and fun! Good luck, Megan, in your final year of high school, and with the whole rest of your life!

We started in the studio (which aren't quite edited yet) and then went to Kauffman Legacy Park, made a quick stop at the KC Art Institute, then finished up at the urban Crossroads Arts District.

Here are some of my favorites, but there were many more I just can't fit here!

I love the brilliant red trees in the backgrounds of these shots.

I love this shot of Megan on our quick stop at the KCAI grounds. I saw these gorgeous yellow leaves on the ground & we just had to turn around & snap a few here.
Here's a bit of that attitude I'm talking about! ;o)
I don't really know what to caption this one, but I just love it.

The Opfer Family

For this fun little family session I ventured up to north Kansas City to the Opfer family's lovely home in the suburbs. We spent some time outdoors in the chilly morning air for these shots in their cute backyard.

We attempted family shots with their adorable and playful dog Tanner, but he was just waaaay too excited to be outside! We couldn't contain him! :o)

The Purdon Family

On this gorgeous fall day a couple weeks ago we went to Loose Park for family photos. We went all over from the rose garden to the pond. And lots of trees! Dad called the kids a bunch of monkeys because they all requested shots by/on/near/under the trees, but they turned out great!

Hope you enjoy them too!

Out with the old, In with the NEW

Over the last couple weeks I've been developing a fancy new website I know everyone is going to love! So many things have been improved upon with this site compared to the old one that if I told you all about it this post would be crazily long. I'm super excited about the new launch and just this morning I made the switch over to the new hosting name servers... so, within 24-72 hours the new site will be LIVE!! Hopefully sooner than later because I'm really excited for you all to see the new awesomeness of Studio P. :o)

Wait...is awesomeness a word??

Here's a screenshot of the new site, just to tide you over till you can see the real deal:

Erin's Business Portraits

This is Erin, a new business owner in Lee's Summit. She's been doing what she does (marketing & promotions) for 10 years but has just made the leap to go out on her own. Congratulations and best of luck, Erin!

With this new venture she needed some great photos of herself for her website and press release, and I was more than happy to do them! We had a ton of fun in Downtown Lee's Summit (I thought appropriate since she's a LS business owner) and we got quite a few creative ones, besides the traditional, more conservative shots. I love Erin for being adventurous and having the ability to visualize some really great photo ops and see the creative in the everyday surroudings!

Here are some of my favorites from the afternoon:
These industrial-looking ones were taken at the Purina building by the railroad tracks in DT Lee's Summit
Erin was brave enough to get in these giant drums. They started rolling on her when she got in so we had to be quick & she had to hold very still! We joked that as soon as she got out they'd all come crashing down...thankfully nothing did! But that didn't save us from getting odd looks from passersby. ;o)

Here she is in her conservative black jacket. Still looking great though!

We both really loved this ivy reaching out from the whole side of this building.
