Shawna + Albert Johnson

A couple weekends ago I met up with Shawna & Albert Johnson for their 1st anniversary/trash-the-dress photo session at the Chateau Avalon in Kansas. They were married 7/7/07!

Shawna & Albert were the sweetest couple and it was a ton of fun running around the Legends with them. We even managed a couple minutes in the fountain before getting kicked out by security! The fountain was really important to them because that's where Albert proposed to Shawna. But for the complete "trashing" of the dress fountain shots we headed back to the Avalon where they had permission to jump right in! Your mom will love these shots anyway, Shawna! ;o) Dresses can always be cleaned, right?

After the fountain we did some really fun shots with sparklers, but you'll have to wait just a little longer for those as I work on the rest of the editing. I hope you all enjoy these for now!

One last formal shot before the dress gets dirty!

There was a really great field nearby where we were able to jump in the grass for some shots in the summer sun.

Aren't they so great together?! I LOVE this shot!

At the Legends in the big fountain Back at the hotel before jumping into the big fountain!

In the cool water on this hot July day...finally!

Trent + Sarah Mollus's Wedding

On Saturday, June 28 I had the joy of covering Sarah & Trent's gorgeous & romantic day in St. Joseph, MO at the prettiest church, the First Presbyterian Church. Their reception followed at the Moila Shrine Temple. These two are so in love and happy happy happy!! After their great engagement session in March I knew their wedding would be so wonderful to shoot. They smile and laugh so much that they are just a joy to be around. And Trent and his guys had me cracking up during their group session outside. I still have more editing to do but thought this group of shots would be a good "tide-you-over" for everyone until I get the rest finished up. Enjoy & congrats, Trent & Sarah!!

Trent bundled up all the letters Sarah had ever written him and presented them to her in a book on their wedding day. Awww!!
This shot on the spiral stairs reminded me of Cinderella's slipper. Only Sarah had these great turquoise shoes!
Another shot of the fab shoes on glass. Sarah's dress was so pretty & fluffy The girls' shoes
Showing off & doing a little dance for Mom & Dad
I loved the details Sarah chose for her bridesmaids' dresses.
The sweetest smelling flowers ever!
The gorgeous bride!
Trent's boutonniere
Waiting til it's time to walk down the aisle, Sarah perched herself on a stool & I caught this cute pose.
We had time for a really fun session after their 1st meeting outside in the courtyard.
The marriage license was signed during the ceremony for all to witness. I love their clasped hands & burning candle in this shot.
Their pastor signs the certificate
Trent & Sarah are such a fun & thoughtful couple that they treated their guests to PIZZA at their reception. Something everyone was sure to love. Yumm!

Tabitha + Steve's Engagement Sesssion

Tabitha & Steve are getting married in September in the Crossroads so we met there for the start of their engagement session then headed downtown for a lot of fun shots in lobbies and around all the city buildings.

They met at work where she resisted him for quite some time not wanting to get involved with a co-worker. But as fate would have it they were meant to be together after all! Aren't they so cute together?! :o)

These 1st 2 shots are in the Crossroads Arts District. I just love the old buildings down there so I can't wait til their wedding

Next we headed downtown where we 1st stopped in the lobby of the Hilton President hotel. I had seen these banners up all around Downtown at the Power & Light construction sites and just couldn't resist getting them in front of this one! A couple other fun stops in the P&L district Another couple shots in a lobby at 1201 Walnut. I love the buildings in the background in this top shot. We just kept walkingaround Downtown and found a few other fun places to stop & shoot, going for the spontaneous. These next 2 are my favorites! This was a really sweet moment...

Jamie's Senior Session

Yesterday I had a great time venturing out to Tonganoxie High School to meet up with Jamie and his mom Regina for Jamie's senior portrait session. Jamie is in both basketball and football so the school was a great location and even better, we had the place to ourselves. I had fun getting shots of him in the empty hallways and on the bleachers out by the field.

After graduation next spring Jamie is going to college to become a chef and with my husband being a chef we had a great topic to talk about & Jamie loosened up in front of the camera after no time at all. So, despite Jamie's first words to me of "I hate having my picture taken" I think we got some great shots of him! :o)

Out on the track

On the empty bleachers In the quiet hallways Out on the court

I think this shot is my personal fave. We found a much needed shady spot for this one. At 9am it was already really hot outside!
